Nokia India Announces Nokia Nseries Mobile Film Awards

Nokia India has announced the Nokia Nseries Mobile Film Awards in association with Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International, the renowned film training institute, and Mediamatics Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Aimed at unleashing the 'movie maker in everyone', the initiative is targeted at young, up-and-coming filmmakers in the country.

Nokia Nseries Mobile Film Awards invites aspiring participants above 18 years of age to shoot a mobile film using their mobile phones in categories of fiction and non-fiction. The contest starts on 18th February, 2007 and ends on 12th March, 2007.

Participation steps for Nokia Nseries Mobile Film Awards:
- Entry forms can be downloaded from www.nokia.co.in/nseries or www.whistlingwoods.net. The forms are also available at Nokia Nseries Mobile Film Awards Roadshows and select retail outlets, details of which are available at above URLs.
- Participants can shoot a video of up to 3 minutes duration using their mobile phone
- Films can be made in 2 categories: Fiction and Non-fiction (the same has to be indicated while submission of the film).
- Participants can either edit the film on their phone or after downloading into a computer.
- The final film and the original footage have to be burnt on a VCD/DVD and mailed to Nokia N-Series Mobile Film Awards 2007, 1005, Edenwood Tower, Shastri Nagar, Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri (W), Mumbai 400 053.
- Contest starts on 18th February, 2007 and ends on 12th March, 2007.

Hi i have sent my 3 minute clip(fiction) to whistling woods and tracked it on the entry list too but its really sad that i,m not able to find the link to track my entry as the link from whistling woods does not exist at all and has left no clue with whats happening to all the entries,i will be very pleased to know what stage is my 3 minute clip at..

Hi! there!

i got my nokia nseries phone now. i particulary wanted only to buy the Nokia new nseries phone 76 because i have heard about the movie making oppurtunity provided by Nokia based on its Nseries phones.i would definitely take part next year! Gd to know that such a renowned director like Subashji and his wonderful institution are part and parcel of this great venture. Hope to participate at the earliest. Thank u Nokia and Subashji.

USCIS Selects Final H1B Petitions by Random Selection - Almost a 50% chance for each Application

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that on April 12 it conducted the computer-generated random selection process to determine which H-1B petitions, subject to the congressionally mandated H-1B cap for fiscal year 2008 (FY 2008), would continue to final processing. USCIS completed this determination ahead of the preliminary schedule noted on April 3, when it announced it had received enough petitions to meet the cap for FY 2008. The 123,480 cap-subject petitions received on April 2 and 3 were labeled with unique numerical identifiers and selected randomly by computer. The chosen numerical identifiers were then transmitted to the appropriate service center for further processing. H1B 2008:USCIS released Preliminary Numbers

USCIS today released the final count of number of unique pieces of mail received for H1B petitions. It received 133,000 unique pieces of mail containing H-1B petitions. I guess, each piece of mail will ' mostly ' contain more than one petition, as no company would send each petition in a seperate package and its most unlikely that a firm applies for just one petition. Probably by the end of next week, we might know the actual number of H1B petitions filed and how lucky one must be to get through the initial filter.
