Is It Really Safe to Use a Cellphone on a Plane?

Image
Perhaps not, particularly on older fleets. But why take a chance. Better just shutdown when we were told to. Safety can be statistical, but life is not. Like most airline passengers, you probably have serious doubts about those pre-flight announcements asking you to turn off your cellphones, blackberries, iPods and anything else electronic. But a confidential industry study obtained by ABC News indicates there really could be serious safety issues related to cellphones and other PEDs. Shared from : ABC News

Recently Vonage started offering Unlimited Calls to India under its $24.99/m existing plan. Good thing is that the plan includes both landlines and cell phones all over India. If you are already a Vonage subscriber, make sure you have Vonage World plan to get this great deal. Not sure whether it is automatically done. For me, I did convert to this plan explicitly. If you are not a Vonage subscriber already, think about it. For $24.99 you get unlimited calling to India (and about 60 countries) and have a landline number to make unlimited calls within US. Get ONE month FREE. Vonage initially offered 2 months FREE when you sign up for this service. But now it is back to its original offer of ONE month FREE offer. Get ONE MONTH FREE if you signup by clicking on the image below. If you pay whole one year upfront, you may get an additional 20% off.   Click here to get the ONE MONTH FREE offer.

18 Andhra Kids Beat Calculator

We all have so heavily depend on Calculators and Computers to do all calculations, including the most simplest ones. Its quite tough to beat the habit of looking for a nearby computer or calculator on the cell phone and start waking up those gray cells. So, its worth noting that kids of this generation actually beat those calculators instead of relying on them. Kudos. The proficiency and speed for calculating faster than calculator has been achieved by 18 out of 8,000 kids from Andhra Pradesh enrolled for Abacus and Braindemy SDN BHD, Malaysia. Technology: No more restrictions on Internet Telephony in India

Finally Indian government has removed the restrictions on internet telephony and allows internet service providers to terminate calls to any phone (landline or Mobile). The telecom regulator has removed restrictions on net telephony which allows internet service providers (ISPs) to terminate voice calls from the net on the phone. Put simply it makes voice calls interoperable between mobile handset (VOIP- voice internet protocol– enabled) and a personal computer (PC). Consumers would be able to make calls from PCs to fixed line and mobile phones in India. They can also make a call to personal computers from their handsets. Till date, a call from a computer could legally be made only to another computer within the country, and not to a phone. However, one could make international calls to a phone from their computer.
